Caring for Older Adults
November 3, 2011
12:00 - 1:30 PM
Dirksen Senate Office Building
Room 562
lunch will be served
The Eldercare Workforce Alliance, a coalition of 28 organizations in aging, invites you to a congressional luncheon briefing on the importance of funding opportunities for health professionals and direct-care workers with specialized training in geriatrics. The panel will discuss the importance of Medicaid and government funded programs that support interdisciplinary team care and family caregivers.
Strengthening the eldercare workforce will strengthen America’s economy. We must incorporate the need for a well-trained eldercare workforce into our job creation policies. Drawing people into the fields of eldercare, including geriatrics and gerontology can generate jobs and address the need for quality care.
Speakers include:
Diana Espinosa
Deputy Associate Administrator and Director of the Office of Policy Coordination, Bureau of Health Professions at the Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA)
Tom Genung
Family Caregiver Hastings, NE
Kelly Gessner
