Forum on Practical Solutions for Aging in Place: State Policies and Practices that Work

A forum hosted by the AARP willl focus on state land use, transportation and housing policies that help older adults remain in their homes and communities as they age. Speakers will describe how states across the country are breaking down the barriers to building livable communities. This includes successful efforts to integrate land use, housing and transportation policy; design complete streets; and provide services and supports at home.

Family Matters: Multigenerational Families in a Volatile Economy

The number of multigenerational families is on the rise. In this challenging economic landscape, how are these families coping and what can we do to help?
Join Generations United on December 6th for a provocative discussion on the multigenerational perspective in America and ways to forge a new, stronger policy dialogue that recognizes that it is not a fight, it is family.
Generations United’s newest report Family Matters: Multigenerational Families in a Volatile Economy elevates a different framework that considers and supports the growing interdependence of generations in America. It includes the results of a new public opinion survey on the current state of intergenerational interdependence and makes recommendations for public policy strategies that value and engage all generations.

Webinar: Innovations in Caregiving Grants

The National Alliance for Caregiving is hosting a free webinar to discuss its Innovations in Caregiving grants program opportunity. The program, Innovations in Caregiving, will provide financial support of up to $10,000 to five non-profit organizations, agencies, and universities to replicate the best innovations identified through the National Family Caregiving Awards program. In the webinar, a select group of National Family Caregiving Award winners will discuss their programs in detail and show ways that the applicants can replicate their programs. The award winners will also be available to answer questions from those wishing to apply for an Innovations in Caregiving grant.

Webinar: Health Care Innovation Challenge

The Department of Health and Human Services recently announced the Health Care Innovation Challenge from the CMS Innovation Center, a new initiative designed to test creative ways to deliver high quality medical care and reduce costs across the country. Up to $1 billion in total grants will be awarded to applicants who implement the most compelling new ideas to deliver better health, improved care and lower costs to people enrolled in Medicare, Medicaid and CHIP. To give interested potential applicants the opportunity to hear more about the funding opportunity announcement, CMS Innovation Center staff will be hosting a webinar overview of the Challenge and be available to answer questions.
